DADA's primary objective is to create stories about the African Diaspora told by African voices. DADA recognises the need to construct a space in which indigenous filmmakers feel comfortable to articulate their own experiences in a language of their choice.

Africa has an oral tradition of storytelling and a rich culture of functional art that lends itself to cinematic art. DADA strives to tell Pan-African documentaries and narrative films that not only help generate a viable film industry but encourage working relationships between professional artists in Africa.
